A European Adventure – Mick’s Review
We recently caught up with Mick, one of our holidays drivers, about one of our recent European breaks that he was one of the drivers on, alongside Liam - Bulbfields And Windmills - Tulips From Amsterdam. A charming getaway full of gorgeous flowers, picturesque towns, and unforgettable memories.
When catching up with Mick we managed to get all the best information about the tour, and all the details to share with you!
To start, please could you give us an overview of your trip?
Day 1 - Our tour begins travelling to France, then continuing to Holland, where we stay for four nights.
Day 2 - We visit the breathtaking Keukenhof Botanical Gardens where vibrant flowers stretch as far as the eye can see.
Day 3 - A full day of great experiences, we cross the impressive causeway to Enkhuizen, enjoy a relaxing cruise to Medemblik, then to finish the day hop on board a charming steam train for a scenic ride to Hoorn.
Day 4 - We explored the famous town of Edam, famous for its cheese, afterwards we headed to Volendam a pretty and lively fishing village.
Day 5 - After an amazing tour with myself and Liam we depart the hotel and bid farewell to Holland, with great memories.
What was your favourite moment from the tour?
As an extra bonus we had the opportunity to visit a traditional cheese and clogs workshop, sampling the cheese and how wooden clogs are made. One of the photos shows myself and Liam wearing a giant clog!
Do you have any funny or memorable moments from the trip to share with us?
It’s hard to pick just one moment, it felt like it was a great tour full of laughs, great memories and was enjoyable from start to finish.
What would be your top tip for people travelling with us on a European adventure?
Always pack a small bag that stays with you to include water, snacks, phone or camera so you are ready to capture all the amazing moments along the way.
Finally, what’s next on your travel bucket list?
One of my favourite tours with Roberts is Northern Spain, Charming Cantabria, with the picturesque towns and villages, the scenery along the way is spectacular and we also get to visit the wildlife park which is an amazing experience. Travelling on the Pont Aven to Santander is like a mini cruise.
